Glider TERESA in the Western Mediterranean Sea

Underwater glider TERESA left Menorca on 2 November and headed toward Oristano, completing the mission on 17 November 2017, with the recovery onboard the R/V Minerva1. This second mission is part of a twice a year repeated monitoring program (SMART, Sardinia-MAllorca Repeated Transect) in the Western Mediterranean Sea within the framework of a collaboration between CNR-ISMAR and SOCIB (http://www.socib.eu/). The glider collected along track real time underwater profiles of temperature, salinity, oxygen and turbulence down to around 1000m. The repeated transect will allow to investigate the variability of water masses transiting in this area, usually poorly monitored, at the medium to long timescale. Information, data and images of the mission are available at http://apps.socib.es/dapp/. .
