Experimental stations

Some kinds of testing, in the marine domain, require a faithful reproduction of environmental parameters, and, often, the use of large amounts of natural marine water, to mirror experimental locations different seasons, from the biological point of view too. For this reason, a particular kind of "field laboratories" become a fundamental work instrument, which let researchers to implement different tests, in situations more and more similar to the real ones.

These testing sites, often positioned in places far away from the main laboratories, but in direct contact with the sea, are called Experimental Stations. According to research needs, medium and long term experiments are conducted in these Stations, using as work tools, sometimes, out-and-out experimental prototypes.
