JERICO-NEXT: First Call for Transnational access to coastal observatories and supporting facilities

 

Opening date: May 2, 2016

Closing date: June 20, 2016 

 

The H2020 JERICO-NEXT project is offering transnational access to ferrybox lines, fixed platforms, including cabled observatories, glider fleets, and fishing vessels based in coastal and shelf-sea areas around Europe.

Calibration and research laboratories complement the offer, as also certain specific kinds of special equipment. These are intended to be used in conjunction with one or more of the observing systems mentioned above.

The first call for access proposals is open from 2 May to 20 June 2016 for activities scheduled in the period October 2016 – September 2017 subsequent to a formal screening and selection process.

CNR-ISMAR is involved in this first call with two observing systems and invites potential transnational users to contact the access providers below for support when preparing their access proposals:

  • Acqua Alta Oceanographic Tower :  AAOT is an oceanographic tower, located in the Gulf of Venice, which can host three researchers, atmospheric measures, meteorological and oceanographical instrumentation with real time data, the infrastructure allows attended in situ experiments and samplings.

  • Meteoceanographic site S1 : S1 is a meteoceanographic elastic beacon, located offshore the Po river delta,  which can host meteorological and oceanographical instrumentation with the possibility to obtain Near Real Time data.
