Argnani Andrea

Laurea cum laude in Geology (1983) at the University of Bologna (Italy), MSc in Basin Evolution and Dynamics (1987) at Royal Holloway, University of London (UK) with Ken McClay. Research scientist at the National Research Council since 1988, now senior scientist at the Institute of Marine Sciences in Bologna. He has done research work for more than 20 years in tectonic evolution, kinematic reconstruction and geodynamics of the Mediterranean and Italian Seas, recently addressing the active tectonics of selected areas where he has work together with seismologists and tsunami modellers. His current research on active tectonics focus on Eastern Sicily offshore, including the Messina Straits and the flank instability of Mount Etna, and the central-southern Adriatic region.
