INTERESSI

She is mainly interested in underwater acoustics and geophysics in very shallow waters applied to seafloor geomorphology, benthic habitat mapping and the study of human impacts in on the seafloor in coastal areas. In particular, her research aims to 1) understand the past and recent evolution of seafloor morphology and sediment distribution in very shallow environments (such as lagoons and deltas) through geophysical investigations and repeated morpho-bathymetric surveys; 3) quantitatively assess the human footprint on the seafloor and  3) the incidence of underwater noise in the Adriatic Sea; 4) develop semi-automatic algorithms and Research Objects for the analysis of acoustic data and images.

ATTIVITÀ

She currently coordinates the EASME/EMFF/2017/1.2.1.12/S2/05/SI2.789314 - ‘marGnet’ (Mapping and recycling marine litter and Ghost nets on the seafloor) project; she is the scientific coordinator for ISMAR of the Italy-Croatia Interreg project SOUNDSCAPE (Soundscape in the North Adriatic Sea and their impact on marine biological resources). Moreover, she is involved in the EU H2020 project ENDURUNS (Development and demonstration of a long-endurance sea surveying autonomous unmanned vehicle with gliding capability powered by hydrogen fuel cell) and in the Research project for a ‘regulated’ lagoon- Venezia 2021 financed by . She was recently involved in the projects: H2020 EVEREST, Interreg Med AMAre and Life GHOST.

On the field, she organized and participated to many geophysical and multibeam surveys in the Venice Lagoon, in the Po Delta within the national projects Echos and ECHOSMAP (2003-2009) and Ritmare (2013-2014). Moreover she took part to two oceanographic campaigns in the Adriatic Sea. She presented the results of her research activity in several national and international conferences.

Finally, she thought two courses of Advanced Mathematics at the University of Ca’ Foscari in Venice in 2007 and 2008.

She is currently editor for Scientific Reports e guest editor for Geosciences and referee for several international journals (i.e. Frontiers, Sedimentology, Marine and Petroleum Geology, Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, Marine Geophysical Research).
