Maggiore Francesca

The field of interests have been mainly related to the taxonomical diversity of the benthic invertebrates in various habitats of coastal marine and estuarine environments (soft bottom, hard bottom, Fanerogame meadows). The research topic treated during the fellowship involved functional aspects such as the assessment of trophic niche of Echinoderms on hard bottom and in Fanerogame meadows. In the last years the interests have been focused on: a) benthic community analysis in the Lagoon of Venice through the existing data processing and researches on the field; b) colonization patterns on artificial substrates in Northern Adriatic sea; c) autoecology studies.

• Contractor in a CO.RI.LA project (2000-2003) on the biodiversity studies in the Venice lagoon.
• Contractor in a project on artificial reefs (testing and management activity in the “Campo Sperimentale in Mare”) endorsed by Veneto Region and dealing with the colonization patterns on artificial substrates (2004-2007).
• Advisor on 4 Bachelor, 3 MSc and 1 PHD thesis in liaison with Padua and Venice University.
