Since 1997 research scientist at the National Research Council, Institute of Marine Sciences in Bologna. She took part and organized geological/geophysical expeditions in the Pacific Ocean (Southern Chile convergent margin), in the Eastern Mediterranean (Mediterranean Ridge accretionary complex), Sea of Marmara (North Anatolian Fault) and the Ionian Sea (Calabrian Arc). Main research interests: structure of active margins, accretion and tectonic erosion processes along convergent plate boundaries, submarine earthquake geology.
Principal Investigator of the following projects or working groups:
- Crustal structure and evolution of the Antarctic Peninsula and its conjugated southern Chilean margin. Programma Nazionale di Ricerche in Antartide (1995-1997).
- 1998: The Mediteranean Ridge accretionary complex in the easternmost Mediterranean Sea. Funded by ENI/AGIP.
- Convergence processes between Antarctic and Scotia plates along the southernmost Chilean margin. Programma Nazionale di Ricerche in Antartide (PNRA - PROGRAMMA TRIENNALE 1999-2001).
- Active faults and historical earthquakes in the Marmara Sea (1999-2001 – Funded by: CNR, NATO, L-DEO, TUBITAK).
- Identification and characterization of seismogenic structures in the Southern Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Funded by INGV-DPC (2008-2010), Sismological projects (S1).
