Sparnocchia Stefania
Laurea in Physics (1989), research scientist at CNR from 1994, since 1997 at ISMAR Trieste. She is a physical oceanographer with experience in field observations, data analysis, and in handling and using oceanographic instrumentation. Her studies focus mainly on the Mediterranean Sea, and deal with marine circulation, water property distributions and budgets, variability and long term trends, and air-sea interaction. Since 2009 she is involved in projects aiming at enhancing the impact of marine infrastructures, mainly through transnational access, and related technological development.
She is the Secretary General of IAPSO and the IUGG Liaison to UNESCO/IOC. She participated to the Marine Observation and Data Expert Group (MODEG) and is member of the Eurogoos/Technology Plan Working Group (TPWG). CNR representative in the JRU EMSO Italy.
