INTERESSI

Study of lagoons and other shallow water bodies through the application of numerical models, mainly in the field of hydrodynamics and sediment transport. Development of numerical tools that are especially suited for this task.

Additional interests:

  • Numerical forecasts of storm surge in the Adriatic Sea and especially the Venice lagoon;
  • Sea-lagoon interaction and exchange rates;
  • Residence time and transport time scales that characterize lagoons and semi-enclosed water bodies;
  • Training of scientists from developing countries in numerical modeling
