INTERESTS

Adele Fabbrocini is a marine biologist. Her first researches dealt with adaptative physiology of fishes and mussels to environmental stress and biomonitoring. Actually she studies the reproductive biology of marine and lagoon organisms and the interactions between reproductive biology and environmental parameters. She carries out researches on the conditioning of aquatic organisms in controlled rearing systems; on the cryopreservation of gametes and embryos and on their use in ecotoxicological tests for the water quality assessment.

ACTIVITY

Scientific Responsible of the Research Project “Pilot project for the experimental recolonization with the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus of coastal areas if Apulian region subjected to overexploitation; experimental management for the safeguard of the resource and of the environment”. Fishery European Fund (FEP Project – Regione Puglia, Italy) • Responsible of the Research Project “Ecotoxicological tests using fresh and cryopreserved semen of Sparus aurata for the monitoring of marine ecosystems” (APQ on scientific research in Regione Puglia, grant N PE060) • Co-ordinator of the Research Project “Sustainable and eco-compatible aquaculture. Rearing of autoctone bivalve mussel species” (POR Puglia grant N. 1946/P) • Responsible of the Research Project “Conditioning of aquatic organisms in a controlled rearing system for the continuous production of gametes and embryos for ecotoxicological tests” (Italian Ministry of University and Scientific Research grant) • Research collaboration to the Research Project “SSD-Pesca” - Support system to the decision makers for a sustainable management of fishery in Southern Italy (Italian Ministry of University and Research) • Research collaboration to the Flagship Project RITMARE - Italian Research for the Sea (Italian Ministry of University and Research) • Research collaboration to marine coastal and lagoon biomonitorig programs and to research projects dealing with reproductive biotechnologies, aquaculture and environmental quality evaluation
