INTERESTS

His work relies on using high-resolution hydrodynamical simulations to study the physical oceanography of coastal and subarctic environments. Specifically, his current research interests are in assessing water mass exchanges south of Denmark Strait for climatic reasons and in studying the physical processes in coastal areas which are important for its correct management.

  • Subarctic circulation and dynamics: specifically in the sensitive areas of Denmark Strait and Irminger Sea for a quantification of the subarctic ocean fluxes and a better understanding of their role in climate change scenarios.
  • Impact of coastal coherent structures on dispersion and transport of substances: specifically in the assessment of turbulent flow regimes around capes and headlands and in the fate of wastes coming from marine fish farms.
ACTIVITY
  • Member of the ASOF (Arctic/Subarctic Ocean Fluxes) group.
  • Advisor on 1 MSc thesis project in liaison with the University of Genoa.
