Within a year the IMO Convention on ballast water will enter into force. In the November-December 2016 issue the magazine "Sea Transportation Technologies" publishes a contribution by Francesca Garaventa, CNR-Ismar researcher, based in Genoa She recently participated as Italian Representative to the IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee.
