Loredana Alfarè is mainly responsible for developing international projects, support researchers in preparing project proposals, widespread project results and enhance ISMAR’s visibility through several initiatives
From 1994 to 1997 she has participated to the following projects financed by the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs:

Medium size dams in Manicaland and Mashonaland East (Zimbabwe) The project aim was to identify the best dam sites for land irrigation taking into account socio-anthropological aspects of the interested villages.

Support to women activities in Houet Province (Burkina Faso). The project adopted a participative method to promote the alphabetisation and professional training of the women focusing the aspects connected to the income improvement.

Analysis and Technical-economical proposal for Sofia Water Supply System” (Bulgaria) She studied the economic, socio-demographic and e socio-cultural aspects of water consumption with particular reference to the effect of the tariff variation and the quality of services in Sofia district.
From 2000 to 2009 in the frame of the European Territorial Cooperation Programme she has developed and coordinated the following projects:
INTERREG IIIC Programme - Regional Framework Operation INNOREF (Innovation and Resources Efficiency as Driving Forces for Sustainable Growth). Part of the budget (5.462.600 Euros)has financed 8 sub-projects composed each one by 4 transnational partners for a total of 32 partners.
INTERREG IIIB CADSES Programme - WAREMA (Water resources management in protected areas).
INTERREG IIIB – Medocc Programme - PROGECO concerning the application of ecological engineering in Mediterranean environment.
She has also participated to the following projects as expert in participation processes:
