Nonlinear dynamics, chaos and complexity, Foundation of thermodynamics and statistical mechanics: dynamic approach to statistical mechanics based on a procedure which reverses the standard approach, i.e. rather than using thermodynamics to derive statistical mechanics he uses only the properties of a deterministic dynamical system mimicking the action of an ideal thermostat, with no need of ad hoc statistical assumptions.
Didactics and popularization of science with innovative multimedia CD-ROM and for Internet (awarded by many national and international awards), science exhibitions, science festivals and spectacles.
Thin film photovoltaic (PV) technologies, innovative PV devices and modules, technologies for sustainable mobility, in particular for boats. In the photovoltaic field Dr. Bianucci has broad competences. He pushed the Spin-Off of the Parma University “Solar Systems and Equipment” (SSE) that today, with important financial and industrial partners, is building close to Milano an innovative farm to produce a new kind, chip CdTe PV modules. Moreover Dr. Bianucci coordinated the team project that planned and realized the PV system for the Class 40’ boat, named “Telecom Italia”, of the famous sailor Giovanni Soldini. This PV system for sailing and sustainable mobility consists of very efficient, small, flexible, ready-to-be-stuck, lightweight (2kg/mq) PV modules and of efficient and reliable dc/dc step-up converters with an integrated MPPT technology. For this project he received the Assipe (Associazione italiana progettazione elettronica) award “Projenius 2008”. Today Dr. Bianucci and Giovanni Soldini are equal shareholders of the Spin-Off Solbian srl (http://www.solbian.com).
For his activity on the field of Renewable Energies, in 2009 Dr. Bianucci was appointed “Honorary Ambassador of the Capannori commune”.
