INTERESSI

Since 1977 Giancarlo Campesan was involved in research concerning the analysis of trace elements in the marine environment and along food chains in the Lagoon of Venice. More recently his field of interest was to investigate the possible relations between trace contaminants (Metals, Aliphatic, Polyaromatic, Chlorurated Hydrocarbons and LAS) and biological and/or biochemical responses in marine organisms.

ATTIVITÀ

He participated to many sampling campaigns both in coastal and in sea areas, but his main activity is the laboratory analysis of pollutants in water, sediment and organisms. The concern for the quality control of chemical results is still present in his activity by participating to many intercalibration exercises in particular those promoted by IAEA Marine Laboratory of Monaco Principality, with generally good results.
