Falcieri Francesco Marcello
Laurea cum Laude (2007) in Marine Biology, PhD in Marine Biology and Ecology (2012) at the graduate school of the Faculty of Science of the Polytechnic University of Marche. Since 2011 post-Doc at the Institute of Marine Sciences in Venice where he focuses on physical and biological oceanography using observations and numerical modelling tools. His major research interests are the processes that leads to the formation of dense waters and their dynamics, riverine plume dynamics, pollutants and particle dispersion in marine environment and modelling and observation of small scale turbulent processes.

My research interests focus on physical and biological oceanography investigated with observations and numerical models. Specifically I study (a) the processes that leads to the formation and drive the dynamics of marine dense waters, (b) riverine plume's dynamics in marine environment, (c) dispersion of pollutants and particles (i.e. eggs, microplastics, larvae), (d) observations and modelling of small scale turbulent processes.
- I have been involved in several European projects FP7 (DART, ERICON AB, FIELD_AC, CoCoNET), INTEREG projects(DAMAC), and national projects (DECALOGO, RITMARE).
- since 2006 I participated to 16 oceanographic cruises onboard CNR ships (R/V Urania, Minerva Uno, Dallaport, Maria Grazia)
- I'm a reviewer for: PloseOne, Continental Shelf Research, Ocean Dynamics, Oceanologia, Acta Adriatica, Dynamics of Atmospheres and Oceans
